Indie Street is more than a name — it’s a meeting place.

It’s a community built for filmmakers who may not have all the resources but have something more important: a story worth telling.

On Indie Street, you’ll find:

    •    Monthly Cohorts & Meetups where filmmakers can connect, share work, and collaborate.

    •    Creative Challenges like “make a short in 24 hours” or “edit a film from found footage.”

    •    Resources & Support from StreetLamp Films — gear, mentorship, and crew-building.

    •    Showcases & Screenings where cohort members’ work gets featured online and in community events.

But Indie Street is also a collective hub — a place where we:

    •    Raise money for each other’s projects.

    •    Trade talent (a cinematographer for an editor, a sound mixer for a colorist).

    •    Exchange services to make sure no story gets left untold just because of budget.

It’s about creating together, failing together, learning together, and ultimately shining together.

🎬 How It Connects to StreetLamp Academy

While Indie Street is for adult and indie filmmakers, StreetLamp Academy is our youth filmmaking lab — a program designed to give middle school and high school students access to storytelling through film.

The two are connected like parallel streets:

    •    StreetLamp Academy builds the next generation of storytellers, giving youth the tools and confidence to tell their stories.

    •    Indie Street provides a place for current indie filmmakers — from beginners to veterans — to collaborate, grow, and keep the indie spirit alive.

Together, they form a creative ecosystem where mentorship flows naturally: today’s indie filmmaker can teach tomorrow’s youth storyteller, and tomorrow’s youth can inspire today’s artist.
