About Us

StreetLamp Films is here to rewrite the frame.

We don’t follow trends — we illuminate the truth.

Welcome to a space where raw stories get polished, real people become legends, and every street corner is a potential set.

Our Story

At StreetLamp Films, we believe storytelling is more than entertainment—it’s survival. It’s how we preserve truth, express pain, and build power. Especially in communities that have been misrepresented, silenced, or ignored.

When Shihadeh and  I started StreetLamp Films, We  had a notebook and a camera—but that’s not all. We also had a community of young people with stories worth filming. Stories that were raw, urgent, and real.

We saw firsthand how powerful it is when someone from an underrepresented background steps behind the camera and says “Action.” And we also saw how rare that opportunity was.

That’s why we started StreetLamp.

We don’t just produce films. We create platforms. Every project—whether it’s a narrative short, commercial, or music video—is crafted to uplift real experiences and voices from the streets, schools, and homes of our neighborhoods.

One of our recent films, Poetry on the Pavement, shines a light on the emotional weight of grief, poverty, addiction, and youth violence. It’s a story many live—but few get to tell on screen. And that’s the gap we exist to close.

Our Mission Is Clear:

    •    Tell real stories with real impact

    •    Provide access and training for emerging filmmakers

    •    Create work that heals, inspires, and activates

    •    Uplift Black, Brown, and underrepresented voices in film

StreetLamp Films is about building something that lasts—not just on screen, but in the lives of those who create it.

Whether you’re a fellow creative, a teacher, a nonprofit leader, or just someone who believes in the power of film—we invite you to connect.  -- Ivette Ramos
